“This opportunity changed lives for young people.” A place for kids to go. Meals and hot showers. Community services. From its beginnings, Pālama Settlement has been a critical place of healing and recovery, for many communities in transition. What are the kinds of things that really make a difference and help us transform our lives? Join us for a presentation weaving voices from oral history and today, carrying resilience into the future.
Speakers include: Paula Rath, Blaine Ikaika Dutro, Center for Oral History.
In conjunction with our virtual public events, you can listen to our past with the Weaving Voices Podcast, which intertwines oral history voices, recorded by the Center for Oral History, with special guests to be featured on Hawai’i Public Radio’s “The Conversation.”
Public events are organized in partnership between UHM Center for Oral History and the Hawai‘i Council for the Humanities.
