In partnership with the Hawaiʻi State Public Library System (HSPLS), we will be hosting a three-part series of Try Think conversations around the theme of transition, exploring the complexities in the shift from physical to digital spaces, maintaining intergenerational connections, and gender identity.

From staff meetings to family dinners to doctor appointments, virtual meeting spaces like Zoom, Webex and Teams have become everyday places for us to gather and converse. In this transition from a more physical to digital landscape, the ability to access people and places we otherwise wouldn’t be able to has increased for many.  What have we learned and how have we changed in this moment of transition?

• Has this new normal of engagement changed the way we interact for the better?
• Are we connected more now than before?
• Moving forward, how can we best balance the physical and digital without replacing either?
• As our community, our world, has transitioned from mostly in-person to on a screen, what has been lost?  What has been gained?
• What new challenges does this transition from physical to a mostly virtual world create?
