Support Us

Through a Gift

Your gift to the Hawai'i Council for the Humanities (HCH) offers direct support to our programs:  Hawai'i History Day, Motheread/Fatheread®, Museum on Main Street (Produce for Victory and Key Ingredients), and Literature & Medicine: Humanities at the Heart of Health Care®.  Contributions also allow our staff the opportunity to research and develop new and timely initiatives, partnerships and collaborations.

The reason your donation is so essential to HCH is that while our programs continue to expand, our funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) does not.  Without donations from generous, civic-minded individuals like you, HCH would not be able to sustain our current programming, much less have the opportunity to grow and reach new audiences.  Supporting HCH through a gift is a significant investment in our programs and in your community.

Donations can be sent directly to our office:

Hawai'i Council for the Humanities
3599 Wai'alae Ave, Room 25
Honolulu, HI 96816

Please make your check out to “HCH” or “Hawai'i Council for the Humanities.”

Through your Actions

You can also support the Hawai'i Council for the Humanities by helping us bring our programs to your community.  Encourage your local library, historical society, community center, and intermediate and secondary schools to contact us about our FREE programs.  We look forward to meeting potential partners and forming relationships with organizations throughout the state of Hawai'i to bring our unique and thoughtful programs to new audiences.

There are also several opportunities for volunteering with our organization:  as a judge for Hawai'i History Day competitions, as a community liaison for our Literature & Medicine® program, and in our office where communications and general support are always welcome. Please contact our office for more information regarding volunteering at HCH.

Thank you for supporting lifelong learning in your community by advocating for the humanities and the life of mind they represent.  To learn more about our giving and volunteer options, please contact our Director of Development at (808) 732-5402, ext. 5 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
